The ALU has been holding near yearly conferences and other events for over a decade. Each year our conferences have typically been co-sponsored and co-organized by both Lisp vendors, and companies and institutions in industry and academia. Our conferences have also served to advance and publish ongoing research related to the Lisp family of programming languages and application areas both from theoretic and implementation oriented perspectives. ALU conferences almost always include a day of tutorials in both Lisp and related application areas. International Lisp ConferencesIn twenty-first century the ALU announced the ILC series of conferences. This took our previous efforts to next level: an international series of conferences that were multi-themed in nature. These cater to a much wider international audience, both academic and industrial, drawn from diverse fields of technology, featuring a much higher set of standards and a truly exceptional array of guest speakers.
Lisp User Group MeetingsIn the late nineties the LUGM conferences catered to a larger audience by incorporating a greater academic presence. They often provided a place for researchers to submit application-oriented papers, which typically have a harder time getting accepted at other more theoretical and academic conferences.
Lisp Users and Vendor MeetingsIn the early nineties the LUV meetings catered specifically to the Lisp user and vendor communities and typically consisted of exhibitors, invited talks and tutorials.
