Some of you will be showing up before Sunday, and might like access to
the Internet through MIT's wireless facility. Here's what to do:

- Make sure your wireless hardware is turned on, and enabled.

- It must be configured for DHCP (this is normally the default).

- You may need to disable firewall software while forming the connection.

- Using your computer's wi-fi management software, connect to the MIT
guest network. (Sorry, I am not sure what the SSID is, but it'll be
clear.)

- Using a browser, open any page.

- Select "Visitor Registration" (NOT "Conference").

- You'll see the MITnet Rules of Use (please read them), followed by a
registration screen, requesting your contact information, number of
days of connectivity that you'd like, and the event for which you are
on campus. Visitors can register for between one and five
(consecutive) days at a time, up to fourteen days per year. The
network connection takes about ten minutes to activate and remains
active for the number of days selected.
